What I'm doing now.
Updated May 2026. Inspired by Derek Sivers' /now page.
Building
Three concurrent lanes right now, each picking up a different muscle:
- The Wild Pest — a real Metro Vancouver pest and wildlife control company I'm operating end-to-end on an AI-built operating system (admin console, technician PWA, customer portal). The "AI inside a real local business" experiment.
- JobMatchers — an autonomous job-application agent for career-changers and immigrants. Discovers, scores, tailors, submits, tracks. B2C, quarterly prepay.
- Sage + the SME pipeline — a system that builds Subject Matter Expert agents from video corpora and practitioner interviews. The meta-build that produces the tools I use to build everything else.
OpenClaw — the 24-agent AI operations platform that runs in the background of all three — is in maintenance mode. Stable, cheap, boring. That's the goal.
Hiring my time out
Taking a small number of consulting engagements alongside the builds. Architecture reviews, production builds, fractional AI leadership for companies in the 10–50 person range. Send a message if it sounds like a fit.
Writing
Twelve essays shipped on what works and what breaks when AI hits production. Picking the cadence back up after a focused stretch on Wild Pest and JobMatchers. New essays coming on operating AI inside a real services business.

- Where the line really is between "AI as feature" and "AI as the product"
- How to run an AI-built business when you also have to answer the phone
- The hire-vs-build inflection point for AI inside mid-market companies
